Subprime Primer

This is the funniest thing - but I found hard to laugh at... a little too much truth involved.

Hey, if you don't laugh, you will cry!!

I loved it!

I am SO glad that our security in life does not come from our bank accounts, because men are really that foolish.

Psa 121:1 I look to the mountains; where will my help come from?
Psa 121:2 My help will come from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
Psa 121:3 He will not let you fall; your protector is always awake.
Psa 121:4 The protector of Israel never dozes or sleeps.
Psa 121:5 The LORD will guard you; he is by your side to protect you.
Psa 121:6 The sun will not hurt you during the day, nor the moon during the night.
Psa 121:7 The LORD will protect you from all danger; he will keep you safe.
Psa 121:8 He will protect you as you come and go now and forever.

That is a beautiful passage!

Thank you...

...and yes, laughing about it is somehow theraputic.

The things in this life are mostly fleeting, so our hearts ought to be looking to kingdom things. In the meantime, this debacle can be attributed to false weights and measures which are reaping a terrible loss on many, many people.

I have been reading Amos... There is a repeating them in it:
2:6 This is what the LORD says:
"For three sins of Israel,
even for four, I will not
turn back {my wrath}.
They sell the righteous for
silver, and the needy for a
pair of sandals.
7 They trample on the heads of
the poor as upon the dust
of the ground and deny
justice to the oppressed.
Father and son use the same
girl and so profane my holy
name.

8 They lie down beside every
altar on garments taken in
pledge.
In the house of their god
they drink wine taken as
fines.

I meant to add to that...

The greed and immorality had brought on God's judgement... I haven't made a long study of this, but the idea that I get is that the profit margin exceed their morality... and God didn't like that.
A bit farther down we are told that they told their prophets to shut up and made the Nazerites sin in taking wine... (I don't know exactly how they "made" them do this yet.)

If I am distraught, it is not that there is a loss in the market - that could be regained over time - it is that there is a fundamental lack of morality at every single level of our country. From the "worker bee" to the law-makers we are witness to an unprecedented sea of fraud and betrayal.

Great morality in any style of government brings peace, but great immorality brings the opposite, first from the authorities, who are responsible to maintain peace, and then from God, who will only have patience for so long...

I sure miss you Ryan.
